A New Beginning : 1975-1995
Though Andy IV had little to no interest in running the family company, his rebellious streak would certainly have made his grandfather, Andy II, very proud. After a tour in SE Asia in the early seventies, his only interest upon returning was smoking clove cigarettes, drinking 7&7's, and playing heavy metal in his rock band -- White Flair Pants. Upon his father's surprise departure in 1975, Andy IV reluctantly took control of the company. Unlike his father, Andy IV took delight in "shaking things up" -- and in a surprise move changed the company's name from AndrewCo to Andyco. He also changed their 80 year-old slogan from "Where Quality Predominates" to "Quality You Can Really Dig". With an uncanny knack for making money, Andy IV successfully grew Andyco through his hard-nosed business approach, and a series of hostile takeovers. Positioning the company for the next century, Andy IV retired early and now raises emus in Montana, writing heavy metal music in his spare time.
